A SQUARE PEG IN A SQUARE HOLE – CONGRATULATING HON. YAZEED SHEHU DANFULANI.

A SQUARE PEG IN A SQUARE HOLE – CONGRATULATING HON. YAZEED SHEHU DANFULANI.

By Umar Aliyu

In a bold, brilliant, and commendable move, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has once again demonstrated his commitment to injecting competence and innovation into national institutions by appointing Hon. Yazeed Shehu Danfulani as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC). For those who have followed Danfulani's journey, this appointment is not a surprise it is a reward for capacity, character, and consistency.

Hon. Yazeed Shehu Danfulani is not just a young man with political capital; he is a technocrat with the right blend of academic brilliance and practical experience. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Arts and Management from the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom, he combines global exposure with grassroots connection. His impressive background in banking, computing, and business administration is further enriched by his impactful service at the Central Bank of Nigeria and his tenure as Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Zamfara State.

This is what we call a square peg in a square hole.
The Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation, tasked with protecting farmers and the agricultural value chain from unforeseen risks, requires a leader who understands systems, strategy, and service delivery. Danfulani’s appointment brings a breath of fresh air the type of youthful energy that inspires reforms and results. At a time when food security is at the heart of national discourse, his leadership could not have come at a more crucial time.

It is also refreshing to see that leaders like Hon. Minister Bello Matawalle are not working in isolation but are surrounded by visionary lieutenants such as Yazeed Shehu Danfulani, Aminu Lawal Tsafe, and many others who are steadily laying the bricks for the political recalibration of Zamfara State. With this growing wave of competent leadership and party loyalty, one can boldly assert that reclaiming Zamfara into the APC fold come 2027 is not just possible it is inevitable.

Danfulani’s appointment is a statement to the Nigerian youth that excellence is still recognized. It is a call to young leaders across the country to step up, prepare, and serve with integrity and passion. The future is no longer far away it is here, and it is being shaped by names like Yazeed Shehu Danfulani.

Congratulations, Hon. MD/CEO. The task ahead is enormous, but your track record gives us hope. May your tenure usher in a new era of innovation and impact in agricultural insurance and contribute meaningfully to the economic transformation Nigeria desperately needs.

The nation is watching. And we are hopeful.

Leadership Beyond Power: Why Values, Character, and Vision Must Define Adamawa’s Next Chapter.

Leadership Beyond Power: Why Values, Character, and Vision Must Define Adamawa’s Next Chapter. By Bello Yerima,  Leadership is not a trophy to be won; it is a responsibility to be carried with humility, discipline, and foresight. Politics, at its best, is the organized pursuit of the common good. Yet history local and global teaches us that when leadership is reduced to personal ambition, transactional loyalty, and empty rhetoric, development becomes an illusion and public trust evaporates. As Adamawa State approaches another decisive electoral moment, the question before us is not merely who should lead, but what kind of leadership we are prepared to endorse. The evidence is overwhelming: societies that prosper do so because they elect leaders grounded in values, defined by character, and guided by a compelling vision that translates into tangible development. Roads are built not by slogans, but by integrity. Schools improve not by applause, but by accountability. Jobs...

From Service to Stewardship: The Making of a People’s Representative.

From Service to Stewardship: The Making of a People’s Representative. By: Umar Aliyu  History is often shaped quietly, not by those who shout the loudest, but by those whose lives speak consistently over time. In every society, there are men whose influence is not announced by fanfare, yet whose impact is deeply felt in homes, schools, places of work, and moments of silent struggle. Yamaltu Deba Federal Constituency is blessed to have produced such a man in Rtd Comptroller Yusuf Garba Nadabo a gentleman of service, a disciplined public servant, and a compassionate philanthropist whose life has become a soft but firm testimony to what leadership ought to be. As the political horizon gradually tilts toward 2027, it is both wise and timely for the people of Yamaltu Deba to pause and reflect not emotionally, but thoughtfully on the kind of representation they desire. This is not a season for anger-driven choices or empty excitement. It is a season for calm evaluation, for r...

WHEN LEADERSHIP FAILS, PATRIOTISM RISES: A TRIBUTE TO ENGINEER ADAM AHMED YAYA ( GARKUWAN WAJEN FUNAKAYE)

WHEN LEADERSHIP FAILS, PATRIOTISM RISES: A TRIBUTE TO ENGINEER ADAM AHMED YAYA ( GARKUWAN WAJEN FUNAKAYE). By: Umar Aliyu  In every society, there are defining moments that separate rhetoric from responsibility, noise from substance, and power from purpose. Funakaye Local Government has just witnessed one of such moments. At a time when public confidence in political leadership is dangerously eroding, Engineer Adam Ahmed Yaya has stepped forward with a gesture so profound that it has redefined what genuine service to the people truly means. His provision of instructional materials worth a huge sum of money to the Government Vocational Training Center, Bajoga, is not an isolated act of generosity. It is a bold intervention in a sector long abandoned by those constitutionally mandated to protect it. It is a silent rebuke to governance by excuses and a powerful reminder that patriotism does not require a political office—only a sense of responsibility. Vocation...
